1 killed, 5 hospitalized in two-car crash in Garland – The Dallas Morning News

One person was killed and five others were injured Friday night following a two-car wreck in Garland, police said.

Officers responded to a wreck at about 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Garland Avenue and Stratford Drive, police said in a news release. Police determined one of the cars was traveling south on Garland Avenue when the second car, traveling east on Stratford Drive, pulled onto Garland Avenue, where it was struck by the other car.

Both cars were carrying three occupants, police said. One of the occupants of the vehicles, an 18-year-old, was ejected and killed, police said. The five surviving occupants, all between the ages of 16 and 22, were taken to the hospital, police said.

Evidence of alcohol was discovered, but police said they are still working to determine the cause of the crash and whether impairment played a role in the wreck.
