MWC 2025 saw many new phones make their debut, but Meizu is grabbing headlines for its global launch of the Note 22, Mblu 22 Pro and Mblu 22. Running Flyme AIOS, these three smartphones have DeepSeek AI at their core, and belong to an entire ecosystem of smart devices also on display at the Barcelona event.
Before you roll your eyes at yet another ‘AI’ announcement, this one is different: for Meizu, which is returning to the global market as the mobile arm of DreamSmart, AI is not just a gimmick. The company’s ‘All in AI’ strategy sees AI built in from the bottom up, with an advanced full-stack technology architecture and seamless cross-device AI integration allowing for a unified and intuitive user experience.
Flyme AIOS is actually three AI-powered operating systems, with Flyme Link providing the intelligent link between them: Meizu’s smartphones run Flyme Mobile, StarV’s AR smart glasses run Flyme XR, while Polesmart’s electric cars run Flyme Auto.
Why choose Flyme AIOS for your next phone?
While the new Meizu phones support Google Gemini, they also feature their own AI assistant, Aicy. Quick and easy to call up, Aicy is baked right into the operating system and there’s not much it can’t do – a smart listener, chatter, reader, writer and translator, all in one.
Flyme AIOS features:
- AI Search: A real-time AI-powered search engine lets you find whatever information you need at speed.
- AI-Assisted Input: AI Note Creation makes writing even long reports easy, while AI Global Recording can record, transcribe, and create one-click summaries.
- AI Call Assistant: Enjoy clearer, less distracting communications, with automatic replies and smart calling, and the creation of summaries and action points to ensure nothing gets missed.
- AI Photography: Fine-tune and sharpen your photos with easy image enhancements, use the Magic Eraser tool to remove background objects, and try AI Portrait to create studio-like shots.
- AI Scene Assistant: Get smart reminders and timely notifications, including traffic reports for your commute to work, location-based weather forecasts, and nudges to clock in at work or collect parcels.
Who is Meizu?
Tech Advisor has been reviewing Meizu’s smartphones for many years now, but this Chinese brand’s return to the global market makes it much more interesting to our readers in Europe, Asia Pacific, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. Meizu is now present in more than 30 countries and regions.
Meizu has been the mobile arm of DreamSmart since July 2022, with the Flyme AIOS running on its phones already embraced by more than 100 million users. Flyme hooks up seamlessly with DreamSmart’s wider AI ecosystem, which includes Polesmart electric cars and StarV AR smart glasses.
DreamSmart is recognized as a leader in smart ecosystems, but AI isn’t a new venture for either Meizu or DreamSmart: the first AI phone to launch from the partnership was last year’s Meizu Note 21. The new Note 22 and Mblu 22 line continue to build on those efforts.

Also on show at Meizu’s MWC 2025 booth:
StarV AR glasses
StarV is a sister brand to Meizu, which launched its AR smart glasses StarV Air2 and View at the Beijing DreamSmart AI Ecology Conference in September 2024. These AR glasses are on show alongside the new smartphones at the Meizu stand in Barcelona, with Flyme AIOS allowing all to interact seamlessly.
StarV Air2

DreamSmart/StarV
Air2 are ultra-light (44g) smart glasses with a fashionable design that combines super-thin tempered glass with premium titanium hinges. Running on FlymeAR OS, they build in an AI voice assistant that is an ideal companion for international travel and study. It’s able to translate and transcript multiple languages in real time, provide hands-free navigation info, and perform meeting assistant duties such as taking notes and providing summaries.
StarV View

DreamSmart/StarV
The View AR glasses are a little heavier (74g), but still aesthetic, and designed for your viewing pleasure. They provide an immersive viewing and gaming experience, and claim to bring every detail to life on the 188in virtual cinema screen they create. StarV says the View deliver retina-level sharpness, optical correction through their myopic lenses, and audio excellence that is virtually inaudible from 20cm distance.
