Leading smartphone maker, Infinix has launched its ZERO Flip smartphone in Nigeria. The event took place at an elaborate event in Lagos that was well-attended by executives of the company as well as brand ambassadors, major dealers and other dignitaries.
Priced at 1,056,000 naira, the new device boasts a flagship chip, large memory and efficient RAM. The unique selling point of this device is that it has been purposed for Vlog creation; indeed, its folding gives it the appearance of a hand-held camera. With this, Infinix hopes users will find the boldness to capture and document their daily lives.
Delivering her address, the Integrated Marketing Communications and Public Relations Manager at Infinix, Oluwayemisi Ode, said the new product encourages users to bravely step out of their comfort zone, embrace nature, chase their dreams and really capture every little happiness.
“The ZERO brand has been deeply involved in imaging for many many years. We hope that users can use ZERO Flip’s innovative design to explore and record every unique perspective and wonderful moment in their lives. To this end, we have adjusted the professional imaging parameters to inspire unlimited possibilities for Vlog creation. The new folding form of our phone brings more opportunities to the appearance and we also have finetuned every detail. So whether it is folded or unfolded, it’s not just a mobile phone; it is a fashionable device,” she said.
Infinix ZERO Flip
The ZERO Flip is Infinix’s first entry into the flippable segment. The device combines a sleek design with a compact form factor to provide a superior user experience, featuring 4K ProStable video capabilities for both front and rear cameras, seamless GoPro connectivity, and impressive battery life.
Design
The ZERO Flip has a metal hinge that is meticulously crafted with over 2,000 micro-crystals engraved in a 5cm-square area using a 0.15mm diamond tool. The metal frame combines satin brushing and mirror polishing, offering a blend of art and function making it super smooth.
The device has a 3.64-inch Amoled cover screen, paired with durable Corning glass that offers a refined, borderless visual experience. The minimalist design meets the large smart screen, showcasing the elegance of the flippable form. The screen size is 6.9 inches. The smartphone is lightweight and portable, weighing 198 grams, with a thickness of 7.64 millimetres.
With its 30°-150° multi-angle free- function, users can enjoy versatile uses like selfies and video calls. The hinge, tested for 400,000 folds, ensures durability and a smooth experience. The ZERO Flip offers a comfortable grip anytime. When unfolded, it’s slim and seamless, achieving a perfect balance of feel and appearance. When folded, it is compact and convenient, fitting easily into your pocket.
Operating system, battery and sound
The ZERO Flip operates on a flagship Mediatek MTK D8020 chip. It has an Octa-core CPU with ARM Cortex A-78. This gives the device an operating speed of up to 2.6 GHz. It also comes with 16 gigabytes of extendable RAM and a large memory of up to 512 gigabytes.
The device comes with a powerful 4720 mAh battery. This is a large-capacity battery with three years of battery lifespan and 1200 charging cycles. The battery has a fast charge of 70 watts which takes 15 minutes to charge up to 48 per cent. It also comes with 10 watts reverse charging capabilities which enables users to charge their device anywhere.
For sound, the device comes with a JBL joint tuning that guarantees exceptional sound quality. The dual speaker design, developed in collaboration with JBL engineers, delivers immersive sound that brings users’ audio experience to life.
Camera
The ZERO Flip comes with a 50MP flagship main camera, paired with 4K 30FPS recording. This offers stunning detail and clarity, perfect for capturing and editing high-quality content. The camera is also fortified with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) with a 1/2.76-inch ultra-large frame sensor and an f/2.45 aperture.
The smartphone is also equipped with a 50MP main rear camera that excels in both hardware and software stabilization. It offers optical image stabilization (OIS) that provides hardware-based stability, ensuring sharper and steadier photos and videos. The 50MP lens has AF auto-tracking that ensures mirror-like selfies, keeping the focus on the subject for clear, detailed shots.
Its electronic image stabilization (EIS) enhances this stability through advanced software, powering Ultra Steady and Ultra Steady Pro modes by algorithmically minimizing shake through frame cropping. Together, these features deliver a superior photography and video recording experience.

Choose materials and templates from the album, and the device will automatically detect highlights to craft an exceptional vlog with one.
Artificial intelligence
Infinix ZERO Flip is AI-enabled with Infinix’s proprietary artificial intelligence app, Folax, powered by Gemini. With this, the device has a smart translate feature as well as a media creation feature that enables users to carry out a number of actions on subjects with various tools.
One of the media creation tools is the AI eraser which enables users to delete aspects of an image they do not wish to appear. It does this with its ‘once smear magically disappears’ feature which involves smearing debris on the unwanted aspect.
Another tool is the smart cutout tool. Here, all users need to do is long press on the area they wish to cut out from an image and automatically save it to the device. Thus, users do not need any prior expertise with digital editing or image post-production to carry out these functions.
The device also has an Ask AI feature where users get to experience Gemini with its large model capacity. There is also an AI wallpaper where users can create wallpapers simply by inputting a text description or uploading an image. the Al Wallpaper feature will automatically generate personalized wallpapers that match the selection.
