Dot9 Games’ FAU-G shooter focused on Indian military gets a million pre-registrations

Dot9 Games and Nazara said the FAU-G: Domination mobile shooter game focused on the Indian military has gotten a million pre-registrations.

Announced three weeks ago, pre-registrations are available on Android, with iOS to be revealed at a later date. Mumbai-based Dot9 games is developing the game, and it will be published by Nazara Publishing. The companies said the pre-registrations make this the fastest game to hit the one million milestone for Nazara Publishing to date.

The made-in-India shooter is focused on India’s military and has a charitable connection to the families of Indian soldiers. Pre-registrations went live on September 5 with an event featuring nCore Group and Dot9 Games mentor Shri Akshay Kumar.

Nazara Publishing, India’s first turnkey publishing platform, has undertaken a marketing campaign to raise awareness among Indian gamers to pre-register for FAU-G: Domination.

“Hitting this milestone so quickly is a powerful testament to the growing demand for high-quality, Made-in-India content,” said Vishal Gondal, cofounder of nCore Games, in a statement. “Indian gamers are a discerning audience, and their overwhelming support shows that they’re hungry for experiences that reflect their culture and identity. This early validation reinforces our belief that India is not just a consumer of global gaming content, but a creator of world-class games that resonate both at home and internationally.”

“While the Dot9 Games team is working tirelessly to make FAU-G: Domination the best it can be, a million pre-registrations is just the incentive we need to make it even better,” said Deepak Ail, CEO of Dot9 Games, in a statement. “The game is at the stage where we’re fine-tuning and deciding what features players need at launch — with some playtests before that. Stay tuned to our socials to know more.”

The companies said FAU-G: Domination is Nazara and nCore Games’ answer to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day call to action to the nation. He urged India’s games industry to focus on designing world-class games. He highlighted the country’s talent and potential to become a global leader in gaming.

Modi’s tense relationship with China has been reflected in the country’s gaming stances, as India banned PUBG: Mobile because of its connections to China. The game was modified and renamed Battlegrounds Mobile India. And it relaunched in India in 2021. This effort to create an Indian national military franchise in gaming reflects this political context.

The latest trailer entices players to win on FAU-G: Domination’s many maps, all while showcasing a variety of weapons. It also highlights multiple locations and firefights to show the scope and size of the experience Dot9 and nCore Games will bring to gamers in India and the world.

Under the mentorship of Shri Akshay Kumar, nCore is dedicating the game to Bharat Ke Veer. Bharat Ke Veer Trust gives homage and support to India’s Bravehearts. To support the families of India’s Armed Forces Martyrs, Nazara donated Rs. 25,00,000 to Bharat Ke Veer and FAU-G: Domination will also feature specific cosmetic items such as badges, of which 100 percent of the proceeds will go towards Bharat Ke Veer.

The Bharat Ke Veer Trust created by Akshay Kumar and implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs will support the families of India’s Armed Forces Martyrs.

FAU-G: Domination also had its second playtest last week. This had players accessing the latest build of the game and playing with fellow community members. Player feedback has played a role in shaping FAU-G: Domination, ensuring that the game evolves in response to the community’s input.

During these multiple playtests, players had the opportunity to experience the game early and provide detailed feedback on everything from gameplay mechanics to design elements. Their insights have been instrumental in refining key aspects of the game, from improving weapon balance to enhancing map layouts and user interface.
