Motorola has just announced a new smartphone, the ThinkPhone 25. We’ve exclusively revealed the design of this smartphone, and then shared even more images of it. Those renders were spot on, it seems.
The Motorola ThinkPhone 25 is now official with aramid fiber back
The Motorola ThinkPhone 25 is not your regular rugged smartphone, but it does come with the MIL-STD-810H rating, on top of being IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. This is one tough smartphone.
The phone also includes aramid fiber on its back, which covers not only the backplate but the camera island too. The frame is made out of plastic (which is surprising), and it’s mostly flat, but it does curve towards the edges.
With that being said, the phone has a flat display and a centered display camera hole. Its bezels are very thin, and Motorola promised 5 years of Android OS updates and security updates.
It includes a 6.36-inch pOLED LTPO display
The phone features a 6.36-inch pOLED display with a resolution of 2670 x 1220. This display offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, it’s an LTPO panel. The peak brightness here is 3,000 nits.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 fuels the phone, while Motorola also included 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The company also offers 256GB of storage on this phone. A 4,310mAh battery is a part of the package, while the device supports 68W TurboPower wired charging, and also 15W wireless charging.
Android 14 comes pre-installed here, while the fingerprint scanner is placed below the display. A 50-megapixel main camera (Sony LYTIA-700C sensor, f/1.8 aperture, OIS) sits on the back. It is backed by a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit (120-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture, macro), and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom, f/2.0 aperture, OIS).
It comes in a single color and will go on sale next month
The phone does come with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Bluetooth 5.3 is also on offer here, while 5G connectivity is supported. It offers a dual SIM setup (nano SIM + eSIM).
The Motorola ThinkPhone 25 measures 154.1 x 71.2 x 8.1mm, and weighs 171 grams. It comes in a single color, Carbon black. The phone will cost €499/£450 and go on sale in November.
