The vehicle, which has done over 52,000 miles, made several appearances in the TV programme Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, which first aired in 2014.

The 3000 GT is white with a black interior and has a three-litre V6 engine which produces 130bhp, can do 0-60mph in 8.5 seconds and reach 121mph.

The Naked Chef spent £20,000 on restoring it to its original specification but decided to sell it at Classic Car Auctions, of Leamington Spa, Warks.

The Capri is believed to be one of 31 examples on the road, and has been described as ‘one of the most collectable examples’ of the Mk1 model.

A Classic Car Auctions spokesperson said: “This is a two-owner car from new, with Jamie taking possession in June 2014.

“During his ownership, the car was restored in line with its original specification at a cost of around £20,000.

“Described by Jamie as his ‘go-to car’, the Capri is well known and has made several appearances on the TV programme Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast.

“We believe that there are only 31 of these 3000 GTs currently on the road and consequently they’re very collectable.

“This is the perfect opportunity to get behind the wheel of one with the added bonus of celebrity provenance.”

Jamie also sold his 1955 Fiat 1100 Pick-Up for £7,000.

The Fiat 1100 Pick-Up was introduced in 1953 and available as a three-box saloon, coupe, estate or flat-bed ‘Industriale’.

This example was imported to Britain in 1973 and Oliver has owned it since 2012.

A Classic Car Auctions spokesperson added: “Jamie has a passion for cars and a real fondness for these three charming vehicles, which seem to embody something of his ‘cheeky chappie’ persona.”

Other celebrity cars from TV personality Ant Anstead’s new programme The Naked Mechanic were also sold.

This includes a 1978 Land Rover Series III 88″ Factory Station Wagon, and a 1980 Alfa Romeo Alfasud 1.5-Litre Four-Door.

Rowan Atkinson‘s 1989 Peugeot 205 1.6-Litre GTi also fetched just over £20,000 at the event.

A 1973 Lotus Elan +2 S 130 (Type 50) and a 1964 Ford Thunderbird Hardtop Landau Series 4 had also been listed.

A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, which featured in Season 8 Episode 10 of Wheeler Dealers with Mike Brewer and Ed China, sold for £16,875.
