Rolls-Royce introduces a look at its unique Spectre Lunaflair design which was commissioned by an anonymous American client. It is defined by a holographic paint finish that took over a year to capture. It is inspired by the ethereal beauty of the moon’s halo — this is a natural phenomenon when moonlight passes through ice crystals in clouds at a high altitude.
From this, it forms a beautifully colorful ring that surrounds the moon. The team at Rolls-Royce created this with seven layers including a formulated pearlescent coat that was specifically created along with magnesium fluoride. The process created a finish that shifts from a metallic sheen in a low light and when it is under direct sunlight, it creates a bright rainbow hue.
