Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Running In The Vivo iQOO 13 Achieves The Fastest Multi-Core Score For A Smartphone SoC, Considerably Beating Apple’s A18 Pro – Wccftech

Qualcomm could be on a mission to release the most powerful smartphone chipset in the world in the coming days. After all, with releases such as the A18 Pro and the Dimensity 9400 already announced, it will be an uphill battle for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to overtake its competitors. However, according to the latest benchmarking scores, the SoC obtains the highest multi-threaded results ever when running in the upcoming Vivo iQOO 13.

New multi-core scores are higher than what the OnePlus 13 obtained, all the while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 operated at the same clock speeds

The last time the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 was tested, it powered the OnePlus 13, and acquired more than 10,000 points in the multi-core category. Compared to Apple’s A18 Pro, Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship SoC was 18 percent faster, while running circles around last year’s A17 Pro with its 39 percent performance lead. Now, a new flagship called the iQOO 13 was spotted on Geekbench 6, with single-core score of 3,217 and multi-core score of 10,305.

The interesting part of this benchmark is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s performance and efficiency cores are running at the same clock speeds of 4.32GHz and 3.53GHz, respectively. With the Vivo iQOO 13, the single-core results are less compared to the OnePlus 13, but its multi-core figures are the highest that we have ever seen from a smartphone. As for how the flagship managed to accumulate these scores, these are likely within the margin of error from the results attained by the OnePlus 13.

Then again, the Vivo iQOO 13 could be equipped with a beefier cooling solution, or the custom software skin running over Android could be utilizing less system resources, freeing up more processing power for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to post a higher multi-core result. Sadly, none of these figures reveal the power consumption of the silicon, and while the high scores are one aspect of measuring performance, power efficiency is another important metric that should never be ignored. Hopefully, we will learn more about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the coming days so stay tuned.
