Asus ROG Phone 9 is coming on November 19 (gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite) – Liliputing

Asus has been selling gaming PCs and accessories under the ROG (Republic of Gamers) brand since 2006. While the company’s ROG Phone line of smartphones for gamers hasn’t been around quite as long, Asus helped popularize the idea of gaming phones with the launch of the original ROG Phone in 2018.

Nine generations later, Asus is preparing to launch a new model that will be one of the first to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor featuring Oryon CPU cores and next-gen Adreno graphics. Asus isn’t sharing too many other details yet, but the company has released a promotional picture and a launch date: the Asus ROG Phone 9 is coming on November 19th.

Asus is showing off engineering prototypes at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit today, but based on the promo picture, it looks like we can expect a triple-camera system on the back of the ROG Phone… plus a lot of Asus branding.

On the bottom of the phone there’s an area marked Republic of Gamers. On the side, the words “Dare to Play” are printed. And below the cameras are the acronyms ROG and GLHF (which, I believe, stands for “Good Luck, Have Fun.”

There also appears to be a series of small holes in an angled pattern across the bottom of the phone that appears to be an updated version of the AniMe Vision RGB lighting we’ve seen on some other ROG-branded gaming phones or AniMe Matrix display on some ROG gaming laptops. But if the rendered image Asus has shared is anything to go by, it looks like the RGB lighting canvas will be substantially larger on the new ROG Phone 9.

More details should be available when Asus holds an official launch event for the ROG Phone 9 on November 19th, 2024.
