From track-focused variants to street-dominating monsters, Shelby Mustangs have consistently raised the bar for what American muscle can do.

With Shelby American’s long history of working with the Blue Oval, the American company has created some of the fastest accelerating muscle cars on the planet. These 10 Ford Mustang models vary in more ways than one, but they all have one thing in common: they’re quick off the line, delivering 0-60 mph times that can challenge supercars.

It’s available with two power levels: a 480-hp naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 and an 830-hp version featuring a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger. The 830-hp version is expected to be quicker than the previous 3.5-second Super Snake, but no official 0-60 mph times have been recorded yet. Its 4.0-second 0-60 mph time on independent testing made it one of the quickest Mustangs of its day. The Eaton Roots-type supercharger and air-to-water intercooler provided immense torque, allowing the GT500 to pull hard in every gear. Limited production helped keep this model exclusive, though Ford built 10,847 units just for its first year.

Its track-focused nature makes it a bit pricier than standard Mustangs, with the GT350R starting at around $73,435 in 2020.
