Setup:
Setting up the Poly Studio P5 is minimalistic and straightforward thanks to its plug-and-play functionality. I connected it directly to a Windows USB-A port, and it automatically set itself as the default device during an MS Teams call, including audio. Poly Lens

The Poly Lens Desktop app allows you to configure and manage your Poly audio and video devices while enhancing your work environment with wellbeing reminders. However, I found the software interface somewhat outdated compared to modern standards. Although the camera performed well technically, it lacked the advanced features I would expect from HP/Poly. For instance, when attempting to update the software, the app indicated that a new version was available, yet none could be found.

The build quality is commendable; however, an upgrade to a USB-C cable instead of USB-A would be beneficial for modern setups. While the camera does not include a carry case—something that would be advantageous for hybrid working environments—the essential features are well-executed.The camera delivers excellent performance with quality optics, low-light compensation, and pro-grade resolution at 1080p. The four times digital zoom and directional microphone ensure a personalised video conferencing experience without requiring extensive technical setup.
