OnePlus phones gained a smattering of AI features earlier this year, but the company isn’t stopping there. Now, the firm has launched Oxygen OS 15, which brings even more AI-related additions.
Oxygen OS 15 has three new AI features for photos, starting with AI Unblur. As the name implies, this feature promises to reduce blur in photos. The company is also offering an AI Reflection Eraser tool, following in the footsteps of HUAWEI and Samsung. This will allow you to remove reflections and glare from photos, particularly when shooting through windows. Finally, OnePlus is offering an AI Detail Boost feature (seen below) to upscale cropped, pixelated images to 4K resolution.
All these photo features are cloud-based, which is a double-edged sword. For one, there are privacy implications as you’ll be sharing your photos with OnePlus. This also means you need an internet connection. However, the cloud requirement suggests that you don’t need a high-end OnePlus phone if the processing isn’t done on-device.
Plenty more AI tools in Oxygen OS 15
OnePlus is also offering several other AI-powered tools. One productivity-focused addition is the Google-powered AI Notes tool (seen above), which can summarize notes and offer writing assistance. This tool can also transcribe and clean up audio recordings.
The company offers a so-called Intelligent Search feature too, as seen above. This hybrid cloud/on-device tool allows you to search content in your device files, settings, and notes using natural language. The company gave examples of searching for specific information in PDFs and spreadsheets.
Furthermore, OnePlus has now moved AI Reply functionality into the AI Toolbox, which can be found in the Smart Sidebar. AI Reply is a cloud-based feature that offers suggested replies for chat apps, letting you select the tone of these replies too.

Finally, OnePlus is joining Google, Samsung, Xiaomi, and others in offering Circle to Search on its phones. This allows you to circle or tap a specific area of your screen and conduct a web search for the on-screen images and text.
There’s no word on the supported devices just yet, although it’s a safe bet that these features will come to the OnePlus 12 at the very least. Nevertheless, these tools join several existing AI-powered features in Oxygen OS, including AI Eraser for object erasing, AI Clear Face for unblurred selfies, and AI Best Face (akin to Google’s Best Take feature).
