CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Police are investigating more than a dozen break-ins from overnight in Downtown Cleveland.
“This morning when I was leaving for work, I came to get in my car, and it was smashed” said Chloe Ralph.
Ralph is one of the most recent victims in a rash of overnight car break-ins, for her on West 9th street.
She was lucky. Nothing seemed to be taken, but she was not the only target.
According to Cleveland Police Sgt. Wildredo Diaz, around 9:30 Thursday night 10 cars were vandalized near E 14th Street and Prospect Ave, and 16 cars near E 13th Street and Payne Ave.
Off camera, one responding officer said money and guns are often left in cars through the day or overnight.
19 News has recently reported a string of similar break-ins at a Cleveland senior housing facility and campuses.
“I thought this was a safer part of Cleveland” said Ralph.
According to Cleveland Police, the break-ins are still under investigation.
