A reliable Fortnite insider has claimed that Epic and Disney are working on a Cars collab that will bring Lightning McQueen and Mater to The Island.

As the unending supply of Marvel crossovers makes clear, Epic Games and Disney have always had a close working relationship when it comes to Fortnite. That pairing hasn’t slowed down one bit over the years and looks to get even stronger in the future, with Epic confirming earlier this year that Disney has invested $1.5 billion into the studio.

Although it’s not even been a year since that announcement was made and the full fruits of that deal won’t be shown for some time, we’ve already got a few glimpses at the two companies’ collaboration, such as The Incredibles and Disney villains skins that have hit Fortnite over the past few months. We know more is on the way, but a reliable insider might have already revealed what’s next.

Earlier this week, reliable Fortnite insider HYPEX shared a report from fellow leaker SamLeakss that claims that Cars is coming to Fortnite “soon”. Another tweet from SamLeakss suggests that the collaboration will bring Lightning McQueen and Mater into the game, presumably as skins for cars (the vehicles, that is) in Battle Royale and Rocket Racing.

SamLeakss hasn’t shared too many more details than that, but he does suggest that four upcoming “Thunder” racing maps that were previously leaked are likely part of the Cars update, with Radiator Springs and Willy’s Butte mentioned as possible locations. In his most recent tweet, SamLeakss says that Mater will also be coming to Rocket League when he joins Fortnite.

Lightning McQueen was already added to Rocket League some time ago and is far and away one of the best cosmetics in the whole game. Let’s hope Fortnite does him some justice.

As of the time of writing, SamLeakss hasn’t shared any details or evidence for the Cars collaboration, but he’s been correct with several of his other leaks and seems to be being backed up by massive Fortnite insiders like HYPEX.
