BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A 12-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car that was speeding away from a scene Saturday night.
According to Birmingham Police, shots were fired in the 2400 block of Avenue D around 6:45 p.m. Saturday. The car then left the scene and struck a 12-year-old who was riding an ATV.
Authorities say the driver of the car fled on foot but was taken into custody a few blocks from the crash.
At this time, the BPD Traffic Homicide Investigators are investigating the incident.
