Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: The new reference for high-performance electric vehicles – Basic Tutorials

Xiaomi has made an impressive statement in the electric vehicle market with the official launch of the SU7 Ultra. This new sedan combines innovative technology, top performance figures and a racetrack-optimized design in a luxurious overall package. The SU7 Ultra is designed as a road car, but its specifications show that it cuts an equally fine figure on the racetrack – and as the world’s fastest production vehicle with four doors. After the SU7 in February and the SU7 Max now comes the racing version.

The most important features at a glance:

  • Power: Triple electric motor drive with 1548 hp
  • Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 5.86 seconds
  • Design: Aerodynamic optimizations and carbon rear wing for maximum grip
  • Racing equipment: sports seats, racing steering wheel and Track Master app for an exceptional driving experience

Race track power: top-class drive and acceleration

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sets new standards in the high-performance sector with a triple engine, consisting of two V8s and one V6s engine, which together generate an impressive 1548 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 1.98 seconds, while the top speed is 350 km/h. This setup makes the SU7 Ultra the fastest four-door production saloon in the world and an outstanding representative of electromobility.

This power is made possible by the advanced electric motor system that Xiaomi has developed with 242 patents in the areas of motor technology and electrical control systems. The self-developed V8s motor reaches a speed of 27,200 rpm, making it the most powerful motor of its kind in the production vehicle segment.

The SU7 Ultra has already demonstrated this groundbreaking technology on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, where the prototype set a new record for four-door vehicles with a time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds.

Sophisticated design for maximum performance

The design of the SU7 Ultra stands out clearly from conventional electric vehicles. With a length of 5.1 metres and an aerodynamically optimized body, the vehicle has been consistently trimmed for maximum grip and low aerodynamic drag. The front section is equipped with a massive front splitter and an enlarged air intake, which increases the cooling capacity by 10%.

A fixed carbon rear wing with a span of 1560 mm and a wing depth of 240 mm provides additional stability at high speeds. Thanks to its aerodynamic optimizations, the SU7 Ultra achieves a maximum downforce of 285 kg, which raises it to the level of a hypercar.

The SU7 Ultra also demonstrates its racing character with the active diffuser at the rear, which regulates air resistance and downforce in two adaptive settings. This ensures a good balance between energy efficiency and driving dynamics and reduces the vehicle’s fuel consumption during everyday use.

Xiaomi showed what is possible with this on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring: on October 28, 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 prototype set a new lap record for four-door vehicles here with a best time of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds, breaking the seven-year-old track record.

Interior: sporty atmosphere and technological sophistication

The interior of the SU7 Ultra has a classic sports car style with clear racing elements. The sports seats are equipped with active side bolsters for optimum support. The racing steering wheel, flat on the top and bottom and reinforced with carbon fiber, provides a firm grip and is complemented by a 12 o’clock marker in yellow for precise control at high speeds. The yellow seat belts and a red boost button on the steering wheel further enhance the sporty look.

In terms of technology, the cockpit features a unique, driver-oriented UI. A central display, head-up display and a digital dashboard provide all relevant information in the driver’s field of vision. In addition, the SU7 Ultra’s new Electric Sport Sound Profile provides an acoustic driving experience: three selectable sound profiles – Ultra Electric, Ultra Sonic and Ultra Pulse – deliver a dynamic sound experience via the built-in 40-watt loudspeaker, which acoustically supports the electric drive system.

Conclusion: Xiaomi sets new standards for electromobility

With the SU7 Ultra, Xiaomi has created a milestone in the field of high-performance electric vehicles, setting new standards with a combination of luxurious design, impressive performance and racetrack capability. Whether on the road or on the race track, this electric luxury car combines technology and performance at the highest level. It is not yet known when and at what price the vehicle will be available in Europe, but Xiaomi has undoubtedly introduced a new frontrunner in the electric super sports sedan segment with the SU7 Ultra.
