MTA offers Mendocino County voters free transportation to the polls on Election Day – Local News Matters

Mendocino Transit Authority will offer free rides to polling stations across Mendocino County on Election Day this week.

The transit authority will provide free rides Tuesday along fixed route MTA buses across the county, reaching polling locations from Gualala to Fort Bragg, Boonville to Willits. Fixed route service will operate on regular schedule and routes on Election Day.

Dial-a-Ride services will also be free to and from polling sites in Fort Bragg and Ukiah, the transit authority said. Riders can call (707) 462-3881 24 hours in advance for Dial-a-Ride service.

“We know transportation can be a barrier to voting for many in our community,” said the transit authority. “By waiving fares, we aim to ensure that everyone in Mendocino County has the opportunity to participate in the election process without cost as a limitation.”
