Here's a hands-on video with the Samsung W25, Samsung's 'Special' phone

The Samsung W25 was announced yesterday, and a well-known tipster just shared a hands-on video with the device. This device, as some of you may know, is the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition for the Chinese market, hence the ‘Special’ mention in the title.

The Samsung W25 shows its sleek design in a short hands-on video

With that being said, the aforementioned video has a duration of around 45 seconds. It’s embedded below this paragraph for your viewing pleasure. It will give you a good look at Samsung’s brand new smartphone.

Now, before we start talking about the design here, do note that there are some differences between the Korean and Chinese variants of this phone. The Chinese model is considerably heavier. It weighs 19 grams more, at 255 grams.

On top of the weight difference, the Samsung W25 comes with gold-colored Armor Aluminum frame, and a ceramic backplate. That ceramic backplate is probably the reasons behind the weight difference, as everything else, aside from the paint job difference, is the same.

The Samsung W25 and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition are basically the company’s flagship foldable phones now. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 pales in comparison, in all honesty. Not only is it notably thicker, but it has a more pronounced display crease, and inferior cameras too.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will hopefully take some hints from the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition

Many people would say that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is what the Galaxy Z Fold 6 should have been. Well, let’s hope that Samsung learned its lesson and that we’ll see a significant step forward with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 next year.

The Samsung W25 that you can see in the video looks… well, great. That ceramic on the back with a black pattern underneath really fits nicely with the golden frame. The reflection looks really nice in the provided video, actually. Samsung did a nice job with the design here in general.

Another thing to note is that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will almost certainly not be coming to more markets. A report previous to launch said it will land only in Korea and China. That’s exactly what happened, at least thus far.
