Bentley Motors has announced the extension of its forward-looking Beyond100 strategy, now rebranded as Beyond100+, moving the company’s ambitions from 2030 to 2035. The updated strategy aims to continue Bentley’s transformation toward full electrification, including the production of the world’s first true Luxury Urban SUV in 2026. All new models will be designed, developed, and produced at the Bentley headquarters in Crewe, England.
Key Highlights of Beyond100+:
- Bentley’s first fully electric vehicle (BEV) is set to debut in 2026, creating the world’s first Luxury Urban SUV.
- A new Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) or BEV model will be launched annually until 2035.
- Lifecycle of PHEV models extended through to 2035 before transitioning fully to electric.
- Bentley’s production facility in Crewe to evolve into a next-generation, digital, and flexible manufacturing site known as the ‘Dream Factory.’
- New state-of-the-art Design Centre, Paint Shop, and BEV assembly line to be part of Bentley’s largest self-funded site investment.
Luxury Urban SUV and Electric Vision
Bentley’s first BEV is expected to debut in 2026, marking a significant step in luxury urban mobility. This model is designed to be an entirely new segment, emphasizing luxury, sustainability, and innovation. The development and production will occur in Crewe, further showcasing Bentley’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of luxury automotive innovation.
Bentley plans to introduce a new PHEV or BEV model every year until 2035 as part of its product expansion and ongoing commitment to sustainable luxury. The move aligns with Bentley’s strategy to position itself as a leader in luxury electric mobility, with the ultimate goal of building only fully electric cars from 2035.
Extended Lifecycle for PHEVs
Already leading the luxury hybrid market, Bentley has extended the lifecycle of its PHEV models through 2035. This extension includes the Continental GT coupe, Convertible, and Flying Spur models, which are now exclusively offered with an Ultra Performance plug-in V8 hybrid powertrain. This development follows the discontinuation of the iconic W12 engine, which concluded over 20 years of production at the Crewe facility.
Dream Factory and Sustainable Investment
Bentley’s future ambitions are also deeply rooted in its Crewe headquarters, which continues to evolve as an industry-leading facility. The site has already achieved carbon neutrality, setting the stage for the transition to a new ‘Dream Factory’, tailored for an electric vehicle future. The Dream Factory concept aims to deliver a next-generation, digital, flexible, and high-value manufacturing operation.
The transformation includes the largest self-funded investment in Bentley’s 105-year history, featuring the development of a new Design Centre, Paint Shop, and a dedicated BEV assembly line. These investments will enhance the 85-year-old site, aligning it with modern electrification demands and setting a benchmark in next-generation luxury automotive production.
Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, stated, “Four years almost to the day that Bentley initially outlined its Beyond100 strategy, we adapt to today’s economic, market, and legislative environment to initiate a major transformative phase for tomorrow. Beyond100+ becomes our guiding light as we extend our ambitions beyond 2030, while maintaining our aim of a decarbonized future, including offering only fully electric cars from 2035, and reinforcing our credentials as the British creator of extraordinary cars for over a century and beyond.”
The strategic investments underscore Bentley’s goal to transition smoothly into an all-electric lineup while maintaining its heritage as the British creator of extraordinary luxury vehicles. The introduction of the Luxury Urban SUV is just the beginning of an ambitious roadmap that sees innovation and sustainability at the core of Bentley’s mission.
