iPhone 15 series tops the list of 10 best-selling smartphones for Q3 2024
As usual, previous-generation iPhones occupy the top spots in the ranking. This happens due to the offers and discounts that these models receive after the release of the new generation. Therefore, the introduction of the iPhone 16 series significantly increased the sales of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 15 Pro, securing the first, second, and third positions in the ranking, respectively.
This year, the presence of Apple’s previous-generation flagship mobiles at the top of the ranking is more logical than ever. The iPhone 16 series maintained a conservative line in terms of hardware improvements. Apple has bet heavily on the Apple Intelligence suite as a key selling point. While the iPhone 15 does not support Apple’s AI suite, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max do. The absence of the iPhone 15 Plus also confirms the low popularity of the Plus models among the public.
The popularity of the Galaxy S24 does not wane
The surprise that the top 10 best-selling smartphones of Q3 2024 brought is the presence of the Galaxy S24 on the list (10th position). Samsung has not been able to position a flagship phone among the top-selling smartphones in the Q3 of any year since 2018. In addition, the Galaxy S24 has occupied a position in the ranking for three consecutive quarters. This could mean that the company’s investment in AI features is paying off.
The rest of the smartphones on the list are less surprising. The Galaxy A15 4G, Galaxy A15 5G, and Galaxy A35 5G occupy the 4th, 5th, and 6th places, respectively. This is also positive news for Samsung, whose affordable devices are capturing the public’s attention. Even the super low-end Galaxy A05 appears in the ranking, occupying 7th place.
The iPhone 14’s 8th place stands out, but not in a favorable way. For Q3 2023, the iPhone 13 had taken the 4th place in the ranking. Lastly, the Redmi 13C 4G completes the list, taking 9th place. Interestingly, its predecessor, the Redmi 12C 4G, took exactly the same place in the top 10 best-selling smartphones of Q3 2023.
