One UI 7 will be as disappointing as iOS 18

Galaxy phone users have endured a pretty frustrating year. All of Samsung’s hardware releases in 2024 have been iterative at best, and its focus on AI has been rather annoying. To top it off, One UI 7 is a few months behind schedule. Well, to add more fuel to the fire, we found out that One UI 7 won’t launch with many of the expected AI features.

Samsung has had its hands full with One UI 6.1.1., which brought some AI features to the company’s older devices. As such, One UI 7, running on Android 15, has been delayed. Galaxy users don’t like this, as its newest phones still have last year’s software.

Fortunately, Samsung could release the One UI beta next week. People who have a Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, or Galaxy Z Flip 6 sit first in line to try out the beta. People will finally be able to see Samsung’s vision for One UI’s future…. well not quite.

One UI 7 won’t launch with the expected AI features

This next update will come with some new features, and they include new AI goodies. However, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to receive all of the features. Does that sound familiar? That’s basically what happened with iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence. iOS 18 is out and it brings some new AI goodies, but the bulk of Apple’s impressive AI features won’t come until next year.

Well, Samsung already copied Apple in several ways this year, so why should this be any different? According to a new report, One UI 7 won’t come with all of the promised AI features. Those will come with One UI 7.1, and we won’t see that until sometime next year.

Some of the AI features that we expect include an AI notification feature that will summarize the content in your notifications. Again, if this sounds familiar, just look at your nearest iPhone. However, we can’t fault Samsung for taking inspiration from this feature, as it’s generally useful.

One UI 7 will include some “minor AI features” along with improved animations. So, people will have something to wait for with the One UI 7 beta. It’s just that it won’t really feel like an update until sometime next year.
