Warcraft Rumble is coming to PC with a beta in December

Blizzard celebrated 30 years of the Warcraft franchise this week and as part of the big series of announcements, the studio has announced that Warcraft Rumble will be making the transition to PC. This is a game that was in development for years and was launched on mobile devices back in late 2023. In fact, it was launched a little over one year ago (the game celebrated its 1st anniversary on November 3). Warcraft Rumble mimics the style of gameplay that you’ll find in games like Clash Royale. Part strategy game, part tower defense, and all fun.

The only thing that seemed to be missing was the ability to play on your desktop or laptop. After all, some gamers simply refuse to touch a mobile game, even if it looks good to them. Well, Blizzard seems to have rectified that. Warcraft Rumble will launch on PC, presumably sometime next year.

Blizzard has primarily been a PC game studio for most of its existence. In recent years it has branched out to consoles with games like Overwatch, Diablo II: Resurrected, Diablo III, and Diablo IV. Mobile titles aren’t necessarily new for Blizzard either, seeing as it launched Hearthstone on mobile several years ago. But up until now, Hearthstone was the ONLY game it had on mobile.

Now it has Hearthstone, Diablo Immortal, and Warcraft Rumble. Still, PC is where the majority of Blizzard’s player base is, and understandably so. It’s also not Blizzard’s first time bringing a mobile title to PC. Diablo Immortal launched on mobile and PC simultaneously, even though it was designed primarily as a mobile game.

Warcraft Rumble for PC will get a beta on December 10

If you’re eager to check out Warcraft Rumble on your gaming PC you won’t have to wait long. Blizzard hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, but it does have an upcoming beta. The beta will begin on December 10 (you can also check out Resident Evil 2 on the iPhone on this date).

Blizzard doesn’t mention anything about it being a closed beta. So chances are, anyone who wants to check the game out on PC will be able to do so freely. You’ll find the game in the Battle.net launcher where you can install the beta on the beta launch date. For now, the game only shows up as one of Blizzard’s available titles with a QR code to install it on your mobile device.

The beta doesn’t have a confirmed end date

Blizzard doesn’t say how long the beta will last but there’s also no confirmed end date. That suggests that it could stay in beta until a full launch. This isn’t typically how Blizzard has run its beta tests though. With Diablo Immortal and Warcraft Rumble, alpha and beta tests lasted for weeks or sometimes months, but then they were wiped before a full launch. There were also clearly stated end dates for most of these tests.

The lack of one here could signify that Blizzard wants to give players early access until it’s fully ready. Another thing to consider is that Warcraft Rumble is already available in a full launch state for mobile. So Blizzard may have less work to do for the PC version and may not need to do a full wipe. That being said, the studio will almost certainly announce if and when the beta will end. So players should keep their eyes peeled.
