Ringbrothers turn American muscle car into a 1,246HP beast – Supercar Blondie

The Ringbrothers have once again shown that they’re leaders in the restomodding game.

They took an already-iconic muscle car and made it even more legendary.

The job was no small feat, managing to retain the car’s classic charm while packing a whopping 1,246 horsepower.

The results are amazing, to say the least.

The Buick Grand National

Ringbrothers used a 1987 Buick Grand National as the base car for this incredible build.

The car was introduced in 1982 as a performance version of the Buick Regal.

It boasted a 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 engine and produced 245 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful cars of the era.

Its all-black exterior, black trim, and impressive acceleration capabilities earned it the nickname “Darth Vader’s car”.

The car has achieved cult status and had a role in the Fast & Furious franchise.

Ringbrothers managed to get their hands on a 1987 model and luckily it was in good condition, unlike any of the 4,000 muscle cars recently found parked in a forest.

No strangers to restoring classic cars, the team recently boosted a Tuka on a Toyota Tacoma chassis.

Introducing the Invadr by the Ringbrothers

After 5,000 hours of work, the custom builders unveiled their resto-mod at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Paying homage to the car’s roots, it’s been painted in a shade of charcoal called ‘Dark Vader Gray’.

They created a custom stainless steel front and rear bumper and added a carbon fiber spoiler and side mirrors.

They also retained the car’s V6 layout but made a pretty significant change.

It’s now an all-aluminium Duttweiler Performance version, which bumps the horsepower up to an awe-inspiring 1,246.

The crew incorporated nitrogen-powered air jacks in the trunk to allow for quick tire changes.

Crucial for a car that has the power to tear through its HRE 19- and 20-inch tires at a rapid pace.
