The ASUS ZenFone 12 has just popped up online for the second time. The phone was spotted in the IMEI database back in August, and it has just showed up over at Bluetooth SIG.
The ASUS ZenFone 12 has popped up online, again
The device was spotted by 91mobiles, as it surfaced under the ASUSAI2501A model number. Based on some previous information, this could be the ‘Ultra’ model of the device, actually.
It is worth noting that the ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra is the only non-gaming flagship smartphone that ASUS announced as part of the current-gen lineup. The regular ASUS ZenFone 11 never made it to market.
ASUS could end up doing the same thing with the new model, actually. If that ends up being the case, we’ll only be getting the large variant, not the smaller ZenFone flagship that we’ve been getting up until the ZenFone 11 Ultra launch.
This listing, unfortunately, did not reveal any information about the device. The only information we have is its model number, that’s basically it. Do note that the ZenFone 11 Ultra launched back in March this year. The ZenFone 10, however, arrived in June 2023.
We’re not sure when will it arrive, but it’s likely coming in H1 2025
ASUS’ release cycle is a bit odd, so we don’t really know when to expect this handset. Chances are it won’t launch anytime soon, however, as the ROG Phone 9 series smartphones are coming.
If we had to guess, we’d say that the ASUS ZenFone 12 or ZenFone 12 Ultra will arrive in the first or second quarter of next year. That’s only a guess, though. The phone will end up utilizing the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, that much we do know.
A large display is expected on the front, with a high refresh rate. Three cameras will likely sit on the back of the phone, while Android 15 will come pre-installed along with ASUS’ ZenUI skin.
