OPPO pushed its new flagships to global markets today, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. During an event in Bali, the company announced the devices, along with the global version of ColorOS 15, its Android 15-based skin.
OPPO’s ColorOS 15 gets global announcement
In addition to the ColorOS 15 announcement, the company also shared a rollout schedule for global models. We’ll first talk about ColorOS 15 itself, and will then shift to the rollout scheduled. So, let’s get started.
OPPO highlighted its Trinity Engine and Luminous Rendering Engine, as ColorOS 15 is “Smart & Smooth”. The company announced a number of features for ColorOS 15, so let’s start with those AI-driven camera-focused ones.
It comes with a bunch of AI-driven camera-focused features
The AI Photo Remaster & AI Clarity Enhancer basically enhance low-resolution or cropped images. AI Reflection Remover removes reflections from photos. AI Unblur restores natural details, colors, and textures in motion-blurred images.
Then there’s AI Eraser which can erase unwanted elements. AI Perfect Shot fixed closed eyes and refined facial details. The last one is AI Studio which transforms images into artistic creations.
There are a number of other AI tools, not related to the camera. AI Reply, AI Writer, AI Speak, and AI Summary craft social media captions, draft emails, summarize articles, and much more.
The AI Docs feature translates and summarizes documents. It also offers a one-tap PDF conversion. AI Reading Summary creates meeting summaries in a single click. The AI Assistant for notes, however, organizes and polishes ideas or memos by using AI.
Google’s AI is also a part of the equation
OPPO also infused Google here, by utilizing Gemini models into various services. You do have access to Circle to Search here, and AI Recording Summary too.
HyperBoost is also a part of the package, as it ensures stable frame rates for resource-intensive games. Holo Audio, on the flip side, is supposed to deliver cinematic-quality sound with up to 12 independent audio streams.
Then there’s the O+ Connect app that enables seamless sharing of photos and videos between OPPO and iOS devices. Aquad Danymics surfaces high-priority information without being intrusive.
There are a number of personalization options available too
There are a number of personalization options here too. Like Flux Themes, for example. You can create your own layouts for your home or lock screen by using Flux Themes.
The company also introduced some privacy enhancements, like Clear Voice, Auto Pixelate, Strongbox, and Theft protection.
Here’s a global ColorOS 15 rollout schedule
When it comes to the rollout schedule, well, let’s talk about it. In November this year, the OPPO Find N3, Find N3 Flip and Reno11 Pro 5G will be getting ColorOS 15. A ton of devices will follow in December 2024 and Q1 2025.
In December, the OPPO Reno12 5G, Reno12 Pro 5G, Reno12 FS 5G, Reno 12 F 5G, Reno11 5G, Reno11 F 5G, OPPO X12x 5G, F27 5G, F25 Pro 5G, Pad 3 Pro, and Pad 2 will be getting the update.
In the first quarter of next year, the OPPO Find N2 Flip, Find X5 Pro, Find X5, Reno11 A, Reno10 Pro+ 5G, Reno10 5G, Reno10 Pro 5G, Reno12 FS, Reno12 F, Reno11 FS, Reno8 T 5G, Reno8 T, OPPO F27 Pro+ 5G, and OPPO F23 5G are scheduled to get the update.
