In what can only be described as the least shocking news, Jon Watts’ ‘Wolfs’ sequel has been canned by Apple. It’s no longer happening. If you remember, Watts and Clooney had originally stated that a sequel had been greenlit, but that was way before “Wolfs” was released.
While speaking with Collider, during press for his new Star Wars series, “Skeleton Crew,” Watts revealed the news: “I don’t know what I’m directing next, and I don’t think there’s going to be a Wolfs sequel.”
“Wolfs,” starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, had its theatrical rollout shortened to just one week in theaters. A week later, it was made available on Apple TV+ and ended up becoming the most-viewed film in the history of Apple TV+.
The film earned mixed reviews from critics; 60 on Metacritic and 66% on Rotten Tomatoes. I don’t think after watching the film many viewers were churning for a continuation to the story. I also doubt Clooney and Pitt would want to waste their time turning “Wolfs” into a franchise.
