Although about 160,000 Polestar 2 units were sold, it has never caused a “fire” that makes people hesitate to buy electric vehicles more than charging pain.

Safety is also top-notch. In the Euro NCAP car safety assessment, which is famous for being picky, it recorded the highest rating in the electric vehicle sector as well as the highest rating of 5 stars. In other words, it has become a ‘pronoun of safety’ in the electric vehicle field.

The reason why Polestar 4 was launched in August when the fear of electric vehicles was raging is because of its confidence in safety.

Based on a total of 11 cameras, one radar, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, Polestar 4 is equipped with a large number of advanced driver assistance systems that can prevent accidents or minimize damage.

Through a new partnership with Mobileye, it introduces the Supervision Advanced Driver Assistance System, including intelligent safety technology.

Inside, it is also equipped with a driver monitoring system that supports safe driving through auditory and visual warnings by observing the driver’s gaze and head movements.

The body, including “ultra-high-strength steel,” protects the occupant from external impact.

A total of seven airbags, including the inner side airbag, also lowered the risk of injuries to passengers. The battery pack wrapped in steel and aluminum frames is cut off from the high-voltage system in the event of a collision to minimize secondary damage.

Safety offsets electric car phobia, but there is a limit to stimulating the desire to buy. Polestar took the second chance at the price.

The domestic sales price of the Polestar 4 long-range single motor is 66.9 million won and the long-range dual motor is 71.9 million won.

The starting price of a long-range single motor is more than 30 million won cheaper than in major countries in the Americas and Europe. The price includes a pilot pack that helps with safety and driving convenience, which further improves cost-effectiveness (performance for price).

Additional costs are also low. There are six types of exterior colors, including Strom and Electron, Snow, Magnesium, Space, and Gold. The additional cost of color change only applies to Snow and Gold. The cost is also low at 400,000 won.

There is also little burden of maintenance costs. It provides a five-year, 100,000-kilometer general parts warranty and an eight-year, 160-kilometer high-voltage battery warranty. Pick-up and delivery services are also free for warranty repairs.

It supports three-year LTE data usage fees and provides FLO music app services for one year. Polestar Pass, which supports Polestar vehicles during trips to Jeju Island, is also provided once a year.
