Spotify is currently the most popular music streaming platform in the world. The service is constantly getting UI tweaks and new features, some better received than others. In a recent development, Spotify is making it easier to revisit content thanks to a new Recents tab that includes a 90-day history.
Spotify’s Recents tab saves a history of what you’ve listened to in the past 90 days
The new Recents tab will keep a history of all the content you’ve listened to, in whole or in part, in the past 90 days. It can be especially useful if you left an album halfway through or if you just want to listen to a specific song again, for example. The tab will show a chronological history that includes music, podcasts, and even audiobooks you’ve played.
With the arrival of the Recents tab, Spotify is making a new UI tweak. The company is replacing the classic Listening History tab with the new Recents in favor of better functionality. You can access it just like you accessed Listening History before. That is, the feature will be available by tapping on your profile picture and opening the sidebar options.
Spotify is rolling out the Recents tab as a general change, both to free users and to paid plan subscribers. Both apps for Android and iOS are receiving the platform’s latest UI tweak. The rollout has already begun, so if you haven’t received it yet, it’ll just be a matter of waiting a few days (or even hours). Remember that some changes are first sent to a section of users before the mass rollout to detect potential last-minute problems.
Other changes that the app has received recently
This isn’t the only change Spotify has received lately. The company has been redesigning some sections of its app’s UI. For example, the company revamped the media queue to make it easier to know what’s playing next. There’s also the new option to create custom playlist covers. Meanwhile, reports claim that Spotify is fine-tuning the final details before launching its HiFi Premium plan.
