Mela cops use 20 hi-tech drones for 24/7 monitoring

Prayagraj: For a foolproof security cover for the visitors attending Maha Kumbh at the Sangam, the mela police has deployed 20 high-tech drones for round the clock monitoring.
These advanced drones, providing 24/7 surveillance, have been programmed to focus on the smallest movement of the gathering, ensuring a highly secure environment.
Apart from security, the ongoing development work in and around the mela campus are also being closely monitored through the advanced drones. All the areas, including airport, railway stations, bus stations, ghats, roads, temples, or bridges are under strict supervision.
Additional DG (Prayagraj zone) Bhanu Bhaskar told TOI, “Mela police is all set to use these special drones for the first time, which will provide real-time updates on every detail of all 25 sectors of the campus with just a single click.”
“Special security measures are being drafted to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees attending the Mahakumbh. For devotees, plans are afoot to offer a seamless experience for pilgrims travelling to the tent city from across the country as well as abroad,” he added.
Three drone-based projects have already been initiated, ensuring vigilant monitoring of every corner of the Maha Kumbh. The number of these specialized drones might be increased if needed, further strengthening the security framework.
Advanced drones are being deployed to oversee all construction activities carried out by various departments, including Smart City, Municipal Corporation, Police, Healthcare, and Transportation. Currently, 20 state-of-the-art drones are operational, keeping a close watch to ensure safety.
These remotely controlled drones are operated by specially trained teams, providing a detailed view of all activities. Equipped with unlimited memory, these drones store every second of data, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed.
