My favorite MacBook dock for $70 off

CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock

I own a CalDigit dock and use it all the time when I work from home, so trust me when I say these MacBook docks are totally worth it if you’re looking to connect an external display while adding a bunch of ports.

Right now the CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock, which comes with a whopping 18 ports, is on sale for $379, which is $70 off the regular $449 price. You get a sturdy design, a DisplayPort 1.4 connector, 8 USB ports, SD and microSD 4.0 UHS-II Card Readers, 3 Thunderbolt 4 (40Gb/s) ports, 3 Audio ports, 2.5Gb Ethernet and a security slot. In other words, this thing has it all.

The MacBook Air deal to get (and skip)

MacBook Air 13-inch M3

You might be thinking that the MacBook Air 13-inch deal at Best Buy for $799 is better than the $899 deal on Amazon. It’s not. And that’s because if you check the specs the Amazon deal comes with 16GB of RAM while the Best Buy model has just 8GB. That’s a huge difference when it comes to juggling multiple Chrome tabs or if you’re trying to use the new Apple Intelligence features.

Don’t get me wrong. $799 is a good price. But if it were my money I would get the 13-inch MacBook Pro Air M3 for $899 because you’re getting double the RAM and still saving $200 off the regular price. Check out our MacBook Air M3 review for the full scoop but the gist is that you get great performance and long battery life in a very portable 2.7-pound package.

AirPods Max deal

I believe Apple’s AirPods Max make a luxurious gift for the Apple enthusiast in your life, which is why I’m considering a pair for my sister this Christmas. They’re perfect for listening to lo-fi tunes while working on a MacBook at a coffee shop or after school, and just as great for pairing with an iPhone during the commute home.

With a $60 discount, it’s an excellent deal on a gift that most MacBook users wouldn’t splurge on for themselves but would absolutely appreciate receiving.

PS5 DualSense controller with a Tom's Guide deal tag

One thing is clear: Apple is stepping up its efforts to make MacBook gaming a serious contender.

With Cyberpunk 2077 arriving on the platform early next year and new titles like Control joining the lineup, now is a great time to grab a DualSense controller—currently $20 off. Thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity, it works seamlessly with Mac.

Xebec Snap

I multi-task using 3 monitors. How on Earth do I take this on the road with me? Well, the answer is Xebec Snap linked to my M3 Pro MacBook Pro.

I absolutely love this snap-on portable triple monitor setup—it’s lightweight, easy to connect, simple to set up, and currently $278 off. It’s no wonder it’s making my colleagues jealous! This is easily one of the best accessories you can get for your MacBook.

15-inch MacBook Air still at all-time low

MacBook Air 15-inch M3

Apple must have put a lot of 15-inch M3 MacBook Air stock into this sale, because this lowest price deal is still available!

And don’t worry, I’m not pawning an 8GB RAM model off on you like I’m seeing others do. Rather, this is the new upgraded base model with 16GB of RAM.

But while the Magic Mouse is decent, the Logitech MX Master 3S stands head and shoulders above in terms of stellar ergonomics and all the controls any pro user needs.

From using the horizontal scroll wheel to scrub through your Logic Pro timeline, or the hidden button under your thumb to flip between apps, this is a great time saver.

And right now, it’s $15 off at Amazon!

Apple Magic Mouse

Yes, I may roast it a little for the charging port placement, but the Apple Magic Mouse is unmatched in multitasking gestures and seamless connectivity — pairing automatically with your Mac right out of the box.

It includes a woven USB-C Charge Cable that lets you pair and charge by connecting to a USB-C port on your Mac. Now at just $79, it’s a Black Friday deal you don’t want to miss.

If you’re out on the go and working on your MacBook, headphones are essential to zone in and focus. Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 are my go to for their amazing sound quality and seamless connectivity with my Apple laptop.

Right now they’re still nearly $100 off, and they deliver good audio quality anywhere you need them in a discreet, easy-to-carry charging case.

Apple MacBook Pro 14 (M4)

As much as you might expect us to always recommend the latest (and therefore most expensive) MacBook, that’s definitely not the case.

However, for some people and use cases, the extra power makes the investment in the newest Apple laptops make sense, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still protect your bank balance.

The MacBook Pro 14 (M4) comes from the latest crop of Apple devices, so has the top compatibility and hardware, but this model is currently down it’s lowest ever price right now at Amazon.

So for just under $1,400 you get Apple’s fastest chip to date, access to iPhone apps directly on your desktop, and with the latest edition of macOS, iPhone mirroring, allowing you to control your phone right from your MacBook.

Apple MacBook Air M1 (late 2020) review

Yep, we’re still talking about the M1 MacBook Air. You may chuckle that I’m bringing up a 4 year old laptop, but this leapfrog system is still pretty damn good to this day.

The M1 chip is more than enough for the vast majority of your casual productivity needs, and that 14 hours of battery life is still mightily impressive. Sure, there are newer options that are faster and last longer, but if you want a dirt cheap MacBook, this is the one to get.

SanDisk Extreme SSD

The cost of upgrading your MacBook’s internal storage can rack up quick. For example, 2TB of storage costs $400! Why waste your money when you could get an external SSD like the impressively small SanDisk Extreme 2TB for way cheaper.

keychron k2 mechanical keyboard in hand

The keyboard on a MacBook is great and all, but the best typing experience at home is always going to be a mechanical board.

And the excellent Keychron K2 mechanical keyboard (with Gateron G Pro Brown switches) is still at its lowest price!

Now that we’ve sorted the Pros, what about the MacBook Air lineup? Prices are staying steady at the moment, so your best course of action for the sake of price to performance is to grab the M3 MacBook Air!
