The 2026 Call of Duty will include Omnimovement and MW3 maps

Call of Duty is always such a hot topic among the gaming crowd so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the 2026 franchise title is already being discussed. Call of Duty as a series has been around for 21 years now, so there are lots of passionate fans of the franchise. That kind of longevity tends to breed excitement among the most loyal fans. Which then leads to hype anytime there’s speculation about new features or any information at all for a future game.

This time around it concerns the 2026 release of Call of Duty which is now rumored to be coming from Infinity Ward. It’s still unclear which brand of Call of Duty fans should be expecting. That being said, Infinity Ward tends to stick to a particular category with more modern-era warfare. While the exact theme is unknown, there are some features of the game that are being rumored at this point.

The 2026 Call of Duty title will have Black Ops 6 Omnimovement and MW3 maps

Omnimovement, love it or hate it, has been a pretty big change to the way Call of Duty plays, so it should be no surprise if Activision’s Call of Duty studios decide to roll it into future titles. According to a user on X named Hope (via Wccftechh) the 2026 Call of Duty game is coming from Infinity Ward and it will feature the Omnimovement that’s been introduced in Black Ops 6. Black Ops 6 was released on October 25 and so far it’s been a pretty big hit.

Omnimovement was a huge change because it allows for a much wider range of motion with everything from strafing to diving to your prone position. It opens up a lot more opportunities for how to approach combat. It would seem that Activision wants to keep this intact for future titles. Hope also notes that the 2025 Call of Duty release is expected to utilize Omnimovement as well.

Additionally, they state that the 2026 release will feature some remastered MW3 maps. Which maps those would be were not mentioned.

Wall running will make a return

Another feature that is rumored to be coming back is wall running. This mechanic was initially introduced to the Call of Duty franchise with Black Ops 3 back in 2015. It would make a return in 2016 with Infinite Warfare, which was an Infinity Ward title. Taking this into consideration, it’s entirely possible that the 2026 release could be part of the Infinite Warfare theme. Though this is merely speculation as there have been no rumors about this in particular.

All of this is, of course, subject to change. Even if these rumors are accurate, Infinity Ward or Activision could choose to change things before the game is released.
