Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 is landing on Pixel devices today

Pixel devices are starting to get the Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 update today, which means you probably have the software available for download if you have a compatible device. You’ll also need to be enrolled in the Android Beta Program if you want to test out these kinds of updates.

If you haven’t already enrolled, you can register to participate by going here and viewing your available devices. Afterward, follow the steps on the page to get enrolled. Enrolling doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll see an update right away. That’s likely to be the case here since the update has already started arriving on devices prior to enrolling. However, it may not be too long before the update shows up. So users who are just now enrolling will want to keep an eye out for the notification that there’s software to download.

Alternatively, users can always manually check to see if there’s an available download from the settings menu. In many cases, this action will pull the software for you so you can install it.

Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 resolves several Bluetooth and user-reported bugs

QPR updates are never usually massive updates with tons of new features. Rather, they’re quarterly updates that tend to focus on fixing bugs and smoothing things out. They’re fairly stable for the most part and usually safe for users. This means Google doesn’t intend for these to be for developers only. That being said, even if these focus on bug fixes, you may still want to download the software. Provided you’re already enrolled in the beta program.

According to Google’s patch notes (via 9To5Google), there are three resolved Bluetooth issues, with one that’s being fixed. Additionally, there are six user and developer-reported issues that have been fixed. One such issue resolution states that it “Fixed a bug of inconsistent behavior during switch from ASHA to LE Audio and back, ensuring the audio always pauses when switching.”

The software is available for Pixel 6 onward

If you’re curious whether or not you have a supported device, you most likely do if you’re on a new Pixel model. The Android 15 QPR2 Beta 2 software is available for all Pixel phones from the Pixel 6 onward. As well as the Pixel Tablet. Specifically, the update is available for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. These updates will be headed out to users through an over-the-air update. So there’s no need to do anything but wait for the update to arrive.
