Foundation goes off track from the original novels, but I think it’s an intensely faithful adaptation of Asimov’s stories. Importantly, it also incorporates elements from the Robot and Empire series while doing its best to make the Foundation novels more character-driven. Asimov only decided after the fact that he wanted all of his series to be connected, and the Apple TV+ adaptation tries to embrace the notion of their connections.
