Earlier this year, Samsung officially announced its brand new wearable, a smart ring called the Galaxy Ring. This represents a new direction Samsung is taking its wearables lineup. For the most part, the Galaxy Ring fits most fingers. If you happen to have larger hands and fingers, don’t worry, here’s proof that the Galaxy Ring is getting new sizes that should hopefully fit you perfectly.
New size options
When Samsung initially launched the Galaxy Ring, it was only available in sizes 5 through 13. While this would have easily covered the majority of users, it also meant that users who might have larger fingers and ring sizes would not be able to use the device.
According to 91mobiles, two new Galaxy Ring models popped up in an updated Samsung User Guide. These new model numbers include SM-Q514 and SM-Q515. Speculation suggests that the numbers could refer to the new ring sizes, 14 and 15.
. This makes sense as the previous model numbers referenced the current nine ring sizes available for the smart ring.
Nemko, the Norwegian equivalent of the FCC, also lists the new model numbers. We’re not 100% certain that the model numbers correspond with the potential new ring sizes, but it corroborates claims that new models are definitely on their way.
Not the first time
This is actually not the first time that there have been talks about the Galaxy Ring getting new sizes. Tipster Maax Jambor actually posted on X back in September that new 14 and 15 sizes were in the works. The tipster has since updated his post claiming that the new ring sizes will launch in January 2025.
The January timing is interesting. Recently, rumors suggested that Samsung will host an event on the 22nd of January, 2025. This is when the company’s new flagship phones, the Galaxy S25 series, will launch. This means that, if the new Galaxy Ring sizes are planned for January, there’s a chance Samsung could use the event to unveil the new configuration options as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is an interesting new direction for the company. Samsung is no stranger to wearables, as the company has numerous smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch 7. However, the smartwatch scene is rife with competition. Samsung has to compete against other wearables from Android handset makers along with Apple and the Apple Watch.
The Galaxy Ring gives Samsung a less crowded space to dominate. As it stands, the smart ring scene isn’t as populated. It only has a handful of players with the most prominent being Oura.
