Lenovo's rollable laptop may stop by CES 2025

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! We’re not talking about Christmas, we’re talking about the lead-up to CES 2025. Tech companies are getting ready to showcase their latest and greatest tech, and Lenovo is one of them. Over the past couple of years, the company has showcased its concept for a laptop with a rollable screen. Thanks to a new leak, it looks like Lenovo’s rollable laptop will make an appearance at CES 2025.

What is this laptop all about?

With the foldable phone, companies realized the utility of flexible screens. They can alter their form to provide either extra screen real estate or extra portability. Now that companies are working on rollable screens, this could be the next frontier in tech. Lenovo believes this, as the company has been working on a laptop with a rollable display.

When rolled up, the screen will resemble a normal computer display. However, the screen will be able to expand vertically, giving you a bit more screen space. It’s truly an innovative concept, and we know that people will find a use for it.

Looking at the images provided, it looks like the computer’s screen will almost or wholy double its vertical height. This could give the user the ability to stack full windows one on top of the other.

What makes this computer significant is the fact that it will have a motorized mechanism. This is what the company showed off during CES 2022. So, you’ll just need to activate the mechanism and watch as the screen extends like magic.

As you can guess, we don’t have any sort of pricing or availability information about this computer. Just don’t expect it to come cheap, that’s all we’re saying. Foldable phone companies are struggling to get their book-style phone prices under $1,100. Imagine how tall the price for this tall computer will be.

Lenovo’s rollable laptop could show up at CES

What will make upcoming CES different from past events? Well, according to Blass, Lenovo could actually announce a commercially-available device rather than a concept. It could bear the name “Thinkbook Plus 6th-Gen”.

If Lenovo does announce and release this device, then it might be the first ever commercially-available laptop with a rollable screen. There are already laptops with foldable screens, but this could be a major step forward for flexible screen computers.

Right now, we’re missing all sorts of information like specs, but that’s what CES is for. We’re certain that this will be one of the most interesting devices to make an appearance at CES 2025, so keep your eye out for it!
