Do It Best partners with Ruan Transportation Management Systems – Shaw Local News Network


DIXON — Ruan Transportation Management Systems has partnered with Do It Best Corp. at 816 W. Progress Drive in Dixon.

According to its website, Do It Best is the only U.S.-based, member-owned hardware, lumber and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry. Ruan is a family-owned company providing transportation and logistics management solutions. Their partnership began Dec. 15.

“This partnership highlights our unwavering commitment to offering innovative, tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our customers,” Ruan’s Vice President of Operations Jeremy Carmichael said. “We are thrilled to join forces with Do it Best, combining our deep expertise in transportation logistics with their strong dedication to supporting their members. Together, we will enhance supply chain efficiency and deliver unparalleled value to independent hardware and lumber retailers nationwide.”

Ruan’s Communications Manager Andi Kurtz said the partnership will help streamline Do It Best’s supply chain operations and Ruan will be responsible for managing a fleet of 42 professional drivers based in Dixon, including recruitment, training and development.

“Whenever we bring on a new customer, the goal is to always try and make things easier for them,” Kurtz said. “When it comes to managing a fleet, one of the biggest thorns for customers is the hiring, onboarding, payroll and administration work. We’re a well-oiled machine in those departments and we can take the time to find those solutions for our clients.”

According to their news release, Ruan’s Retail Business Group conducts over 27,000 retail deliveries for clients every week and maintains an on-time delivery rate of 98%.
