CES is the show floor for a bunch of tech that you most likely can’t afford or don’t need. But, it sure looks cool! That’s the case with the Koorui G7, a gaming monitor that can reach an eye-watering 750Hz refresh rate.
Most people are comfortable with a 120Hz refresh rate while avid gamers need to have 240Hz. Higher refresh rates can sometimes make the difference, but how much is too much? That’s not a question that Koorui has asked.
Koorui showed off the G7, its 750Hz display at CES
Koorui is a popular gaming monitor company that makes some pretty amazing devices. The company had a notable presence at CES, and it showed off some of its tech. Among the monitors that it showed off, the company showcased the G7.
This is a 24-inch gaming monitor with a 1080p resolution. That’s pretty mundane compared to other gaming monitors. However, if you’re a refresh rate junkie, then you won’t mind that. The true spotlight spec is the wild 750Hz refresh rate. Along with that, the G7 boasts a 0.5ms response time.
As for the display technology itself, the Koorui G7 uses a technology called TN (stands for Twisted Nematic). This is one of the many LCD technologies like TFT and IPS. This LCD tech isn’t the best when it comes to colors and viewing angles, so it’s a bit odd that the company chose this technology. A primary focus for most gaming monitors is visual quality. They’re designed to give you punchy colors and amazing viewing angles.
We can only wonder if the TN technology was the only method that could facilitate a 750Hz refresh rate. Along with the refresh rate, the Koorui G7 supports HDR100 and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut. So, there are some redeeming qualities for this display despite the resolution and tech.
At this point, we don’t know this display’s price. Koorui sells monitors at a wide range of prices. However, with a refresh rate of 750Hz, we can expect this monitor to cost quite a bit of money.
