This week during CES 2025 ASUS announced new networking solutions for gamers and general home use, including a new ROG Rapture AI router that has a built-in NPU. ASUS also announced a Tri-Mode 4G/5G mobile hotspot. As well as the ZenWiFi Outdoor series with WiFi 7 connectivity, designed for use in outdoor settings like by the pool.
For the gamer looking to outfit their home network with the best router ASUS has to offer, the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI features lightning-fast WiFi 7 capabilities with tri-band connectivity. Featuring speeds of up to 19,000Mbps, the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI router uses the onboard NPU to improve the processing power, which ASUS says happens all on the device.
The router also uses AI to enable a power-saving mode that reduces the amount of energy used. According to ASUS, while this mode is enabled, the router will use up to 46% less energy than when it’s not enabled. So this is likely the perfect thing to turn on when you leave the house. The router features a 10G gaming port so you can prioritize your hardware, and there’s even the ROG AI Game Booster software that’s supposed to help reduce the amount of latency in your games. ASUS says this is by about 34%.
In addition to the ROG Rapture AI router, ASUS also announced a mobile hotspot
While the new ROG Rapture router might be a gamer’s dream, some people need internet connectivity for on-the-go activities. ASUS has an answer for that too. The new RT-BE58 Go is a tiny mobile hotspot router that features 4G and 5G connectivity capabilities. The cool thing is that this can actually function as a normal router while you’re at home. If you don’t need anything fancy, just a router, this will serve that purpose.
To boost its utility, you can unplug it when you leave and pack it into your bag. Once you’re out of the house, you can use it to connect to mobile networks for internet connectivity. ASUS says it works in over 232 countries globally too. It’s WiFi 7-capable and the antennas even fold down to make packing it easier. Additionally, you can connect to public WiFi hotspots with this thing and use it in WISP mode for a private connection. All-in-all it sounds like a pretty useful device for people who travel.
ASUS doesn’t confirm pricing or availability
Much like its ROG laptops for the US market, ASUS hasn’t confirmed availability or pricing on any of these new routers. For the US or otherwise. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these become available within the next few months. With regard to the cost, the RT-BE58 probably isn’t too expensive, but consumers should expect a hefty sum for the new ROG Rapture router.
