PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Cedar Grove Elementary School is full of wonderful teachers, and a pretty awesome Academic Interventionist.
As well as teaching 3rd graders, Alexis Block also pulls students K through 5th grade into small group sessions to take the time to connect with the kids.
Mrs. Block said, “A lot of the kids that I work with have emotional or confidence sort of issues when they’re in the classroom. So, it’s just nice to be able to have that small group and kind of address those, because the emotional learning is just as important as the social learning and all of the academic learning, too.”
While the life of a teacher never stops, Mrs. Block she loves working with her kids, and they give the energy needed to keep going.
“I love just getting to see the light bulb when a kid understands something. If we’ve been working really hard at it, said Mrs. Block, “Just the payoff from them finally understanding something we’ve been working on is just awesome. I love how loving the kids are and how excited they are to be here. I think this is my place, so I’m glad that I found it.”
Congratulations, Mrs. Block!
