Circle to Search may soon help you with product comparison

The Circle to Search feature first launched with the Galaxy S24 Ultra and later expanded to the Google Pixel phones. As of today, many smartphones across different brands have this AI feature. No wonder Google is actively updating it. Now, it seems Circle to Search might soon help you with product comparison.

Google might soon add a product comparison option to Circle to Search

It’s true that Circle to Search lets you get more information about any visual element you see on the web. But it seems Google isn’t stopping there. Reports from last week hinted that this AI feature could help you with gaming on your smartphone. If you ever thought about Circle to Search helping you make better buying decisions by comparing products, that might happen soon, too.

Currently, triggering Circle to Search displays three different options – Share, Save, and Select text. However, folks at Android Authority today reported seeing a new “Compare” option when triggering the feature. The latest change was spotted when tinkering through the codes of the Google app version 16.2.39.sa.arm64.

Per the report, the new “Compare” option joins the aforementioned existing options. Notably, the newly spotted option doesn’t work as intended and reportedly crashes. Although some codes hint at the function of the new option, it’s hard to tell how it would exactly work.

The feature may soon have new animations and a revamped look

Google also appears to be tweaking the look and feel of Circle to Search. You might soon notice changes in animations when you enter and exit Circle to Search. Additionally, some other visual changes are related to the theme of the Circle to Search bar.

It’s unclear if or when Google is planning to push these new changes to Circle to Search. If it ever does, all you would be required to do is update the Google app.
