Samsung's Good Lock getting a One UI 7-inspired redesign

Samsung first launched Good Lock in 2016, and since then, it has become one of the best apps for Galaxy devices. More than just an app, it’s a platform or hub from which you can apply “modules” or “plugins” that exponentially increase the customization possibilities of your phone. Some of them even add new features to apps like the Camera. Now, Samsung is rolling out a redesign to the Good Lock UI app.

One UI 7 is the Android 15-based update for eligible Galaxy phones/tablets, although it comes pre-installed on the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung has been redesigning its own apps to adapt them to the aesthetic style of its revamped custom skin. The latest Good Lock 3.0.10.1 update brings a new UI that focuses on minimalism and simplicity.

Samsung redesigns the Good Lock UI via app update

Samsung is offering a cleaner, fresher visual experience with the redesign of Good Lock. The company has simplified the old, big UI elements by turning them into a list. This format makes scrolling through all your modules smoother. However, finding your favorite category may require some learning if you have a lot of modules downloaded. That’s because the categories are now simply separated by colors.

Good Lock now has icons (Terrace, Plugins, and You) and tabs at the bottom of the UI. This makes it easier to quickly find and access the option you need. If you’re feeling a bit lost, Samsung has integrated “Good Lock Talk” as a more powerful search tool. Good Lock Talk works like a chatbot that can help you find specific features according to your questions.

The update also brings more customization options. A new “gift box” icon will show you a series of wallpapers that you can set on your phone, as well as two widgets. One of the widgets—1 x 1 size—can group all your modules together so they’re accessible from your home screen. The other module—4×2 size—allows you to add up to four modules so that they are available just a touch away.
