Apple device owners, rejoice. Netflix has finally introduced a feature allowing iOS users to download a whole season of a show at once with a single tap.
In 2021, the same option was launched on Android, but Apple devotees had to rely on downloading series episode by episode… until now. On Wednesday, 30 January 2025, Netflix announced that the Season Download feature has become available in iPhone and iPad apps.
As the service rep states to Variety:
We’ve heard that downloading episodes one-by-one has been a pain point for iOS members — something we’re now addressing with this rollout.
Launching this new feature will make watching series offline much easier for iPhone owners. By downloading seasons with just one tap, users can continue to stream on an out-of-town trip, during a long flight or during power failures.
The new feature lets iOS users download all the original Netflix productions and most licensed series. Those on the Standard with Ads plan can save 15 series to their device per month. Users who bought an ad-free subscription tier (either Standard or Premium) can download as many as 100 series on their device.
The Season Download button is located next to the Share option on a show’s display page. Just choose a series you want to watch, find the button and tap it. The entire season will be automatically downloaded on your device.

Along with the rollout announcement, Netflix revealed Android users’ top 5 most downloaded Netflix shows. They are as follows: Squid Game Season 1, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Squid Game Season 2, One Piece, and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
At the beginning of the year, Netflix revealed that it had over 300 million subscribers globally, with nearly 19 million new ones added in 2024. However, the rapid growth of users hasn’t stopped the platform from raising prices in the US. If you want to know more about Netflix subscription costs, have a look at our analysis of the subject.
