BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A cyclist has died in a collision involving two other cars that happened near Beaufort, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Lance Corp. Lena Butler says at around 2:54 p.m. Saturday, three units were involved in an accident on Pebble Beach Cove, which is approximately 1.5 miles east of Beaufort.
She says a 2016 2500 Ram pickup truck was traveling east on Pebble Beach Cove when they struck a cyclist traveling north. They then collided with a legally parked 2018 Jeep Compass.
Only one person was inside the 2016 2500 Ram pickup truck, who was not hurt.
The cyclist died at the scene. The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol investigating.
