The Apple Watch Series 11 is set to continue Apple’s tradition of innovation and quality in its smartwatch line.
With its predecessor, the Series 10, introducing notable improvements like sleep apnea detection and enhanced design, speculation is already brewing about what the next iteration will bring.
Here’s everything we know so far.
When will the Apple Watch Series 11 be released?
Apple has a long-established pattern of unveiling its new Apple Watch models in September, typically alongside the latest iPhone lineup.
This makes it highly likely that the Apple Watch Series 11 will be announced in September 2025. While no specific date has been leaked yet, this timing aligns with Apple’s yearly product cycle.
Here’s a breakdown of when the previous versions made their debuts:
If Apple follows its usual approach, pre-orders for the Series 11 could begin shortly after its announcement, with the official launch occurring within a week or two.
How much will the Apple Watch Series 11 cost?
No concrete details about the pricing of the Apple Watch Series 11 have emerged. However, if we look at past trends, the pricing is unlikely to deviate much from the Series 10.
The price for the smaller, GPS-only version of the Series 10 starts at £399/$399, and at $499/$499 for the cellular data version.
We can reasonably expect the Series 11 to start at a similar price point, with costs increasing for models with larger sizes. Aluminium and titanium case options, if retained, will also likely come at different price tiers.
What specs and features will the Apple Watch Series 11 have?
Design
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests the Apple Watch Series 11 will retain the familiar square design, with no major redesign expected.
This includes the two size options introduced with the Series 10 (42mm and 46mm), making the watch slightly larger and thinner than older models.

Materials are expected to include aluminium and titanium, with colour options yet to be disclosed.
Display
The display on the Series 11 will likely be similar to that of the Series 10, which features improved viewing angles and a vibrant OLED screen.

While significant changes to brightness or resolution are not anticipated, minor refinements to further enhance the user experience are always possible.
Battery Life
Battery life has long been a sticking point for Apple Watch users.
Apple has consistently offered around 18 hours of battery life across multiple generations, and there is currently no indication that the Series 11 will deviate from this standard.
However, improved efficiency in the expected S11 chip might offer better real-world performance.

In our Series 10 review, we noted that the watch easily lasted a day but the battery always seemed to run out at an unfortunate time.
The supplied charger plugged into a laptop can get it from 0-83% in just 30 minutes (slightly more than the 80% Apple claims).
Health and Fitness Features
As per Mark Gurman’s report, one of the most exciting rumoured features of the Apple Watch Series 11 is high blood pressure detection.
Unlike a traditional blood pressure cuff, this feature will reportedly provide alerts if the watch detects signs of hypertension through background monitoring.
Although it won’t provide exact readings, this could be a valuable tool for health-conscious users.

According to Phone Arena, the Series 11 is also expected to include standard health metrics such as ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, and wrist temperature sensing.
Other safety features like Crash Detection and Emergency SOS are likely to remain.
AI and Software
The Apple Watch Series 11 is expected to launch with watchOS 12, which will likely be previewed at WWDC 2025.
Speculation suggests that new AI-driven features, including a personalised coaching service, could be part of the update.

Additionally, according to Mark Gurman, a revamped health app is rumoured to debut alongside the watch, offering enhanced insights into users’ fitness and wellness.
Satellite Connectivity and 5G RedCap
While these features are more strongly rumoured for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, it remains to be seen whether the Series 11 will adopt them as well.
Satellite connectivity could enable users to send emergency messages when mobile coverage is unavailable, while 5G RedCap would provide faster and more efficient data transfer.

That’s all we currently know about the 11 series, and it’s also worth knowing what to expect from the iPhone 17 series, which is likely to debut alongside it.
