OnePlus Watch 3 Unveiled With Bigger Battery; Launches Feb 18th

The OnePlus Watch 2 was pretty great. It was a smartwatch that boasted up to 100 hours of battery life thanks to a sizable cell and a pretty smart dual-chipset configuration. However, the OnePlus Watch 2 is 2024’s news. We’re in 2025, and that means we want to see what the Chinese OEM has for us this year.

You won’t need to wait long. Unexpectedly, OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus Watch 3. You can’t get it until February 18th, but the company has detailed essentially every aspect of the upcoming wearable. If you liked its predecessor, you’re certainly going to like this one as well.

OnePlus has just revealed its OnePlus Watch 3 to the world, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t shocked by that. Sure, it was evident that it was going to launch in the first quarter of the year, but there was little buzz leading up to today’s announcement.

Either way, it’s almost here, as it will launch officially on February 18th. However, OnePlus doesn’t mind detailing the biggest aspects of the smartwatch to let you know exactly what you’ll get.

Let’s talk about how the smartwatch looks before we talk about anything else because it sure does look good. The OnePlus Watch 3 still uses the stainless steel body that the OnePlus Watch 2 did, but you might notice that the watch actually has a metallic bezel around the screen now. That bezel is composed of a titanium alloy and has a PVD coating (to prevent the kind of ugly smudges that the S25 Ultra frame has been enduring).

The display is made of 2D sapphire crystal, which means it is extremely scratch-resistant and durable. The screen is also brighter, but how much is uncertain. It also looks like the crown of the smartwatch will be able to rotate, which should help with navigation.

You’ll be able to get the watch in Emerald Titanium and Obsidian Titanium colorways. Besides different colored bands, the Emerald model opts for a silver bezel, while the Obsidian option goes for black titanium on the bezel. Its black band might also be preferable for most over the green rubber strap for the Emerald Titanium variant.

Up to 120 Hours of Battery Life Thanks to Hardware Upgrades

The OnePlus Watch 2 was very notable in its claims to offer up to 100 hours of battery life in smart mode. There are smartwatches that last that long out there, but they’re very rarely Wear OS watches, if ever.

This watch still has the same Snapdragon W5 chipset for performance but has been upgraded to a BES2800 MCU chipset for efficiency. Plus, that lovely silicon battery technology has found its way to this smartwatch, facilitating a boost from 500mAh in the OnePlus Watch 2 to 631mAh in the OnePlus Watch 3. That’s over 25% bigger.

What a newer efficiency chipset and a bigger battery lead to is better battery life. The 100-hour mark of the OnePlus Watch 2 has been surpassed, with OnePlus claiming you’ll get 120 hours in smart mode and a whopping 16 days—over 2 weeks—in power saver mode. Oh, and with only 10 minutes of charging providing enough juice for a whole day of use, there should never be a reason not to have the OnePlus Watch 3 on your wrist.
