We dream of the day that a robot vacuum is all you need to clean your entire home. But even the best robot vacuums – with retractable mops and spinning sweepers for edge cleaning – can’t do it all. They won’t be able to get into tight spots to clean between pieces of furniture, and you’ll still need a conventional vacuum for blinds, shelves and skirting boards.
Eufy aims to change this with a transforming robot vacuum unveiled at CES, which goes on sale today in the UK and the US. To find out what it’s like to use, take a look at our review, or read on for a summary of of what it costs, where to buy it and what it does.
What is the Eufy E20?
So what is it and how does it work? The E20 is a robot vacuum with multifunctional parts. Its filter can be popped out of the top and becomes the filter body for a handheld or stick vacuum.

There’s a crevice tool that’s also stored in the top of the robot, for quick access and quicker cleaning jobs. The robot comes with a second accessory – a wide mouth/brush nozzle – that you can attach for other cleaning jobs.

Finally, it comes with a floor head and wand. Pop out the filter and attach it to the wand and you have a stick vacuum.
What does the E20 cost and where can you buy it?
In the UK, the E20 is available online from Amazon and Eufy itself. It’s priced at £549. US buyers can also find it on Amazon and Eufy in the US, where it costs $549.99.
This is good value for all the functionality it provides, but it won’t be for everyone as there are compromises when it comes to power and features in both robot vacuum and stick mode.
What features does the E20 have?
But it does have some solid features, apart from its headline transformative properties:
- Automatic dust disposal into the dock.
- Five-stage filtration that can capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns.
- Pro-detangle comb: the roller reverses to remove hair wrapped around it, to cut down on maintenance.
- Flash charging: Eufy says the E20 charges 40% faster than the industry standard.
- 8,000 Pa of suction in robot vacuum mode.
- 30,000 Pa of suction in handheld mode.
You can read our review to find if it’ll work for you, but the key takeaway is that what you gain in convenience, you’ll lose in power. The E20 in robot vacuum mode has 8,000 Pa of suction, compared to flagship models which may have 20,000 Pa. It won’t be able to clean carpets thoroughly and even in stick mode, you’ll get much more power, and features such a dirt detection and headlights, from a dedicated model.
We’d say that the E20 would be a good buy for people living in an apartment that mainly has hard flooring. But bear in mind that the E20 can’t mop, so that’s one job for which you’ll still need separate equipment.
