No One UI 7 Yet As Samsung Releases February 2025 Patch For S24

A quick rollout of One UI 7 for any phone that’s not in the S25 series is out of Samsung’s plans. While the S25 devices launched with a stable version of the Android 15 based updated, older models like the S24 phones are still stuck in the Beta phase. It’s been three iterations later, and rumors have it that the company is now working on a fourth one.

While we wait for the stable version, Samsung has started rolling out the February 2025 security update for the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea. The patch is based on One UI 6.1 and Android 14, and should reach your device soon.

February 2025 patch fixes critical problems from Samsung and Google

Samsung has just released the February 2025 security patch for the Galaxy S24 in its home market. The 455MB large firmware is being pushed to devices in South Korea. Users in other regions should get it much later. The brand hasn’t shared a specific timeline.

To check for it, go to Settings > Software update. Your device should be able to scan and detect the update, so that you can download and install it.

The update features Samsung and Google fixes for Android 12, 13, and 14. The fixes also tagged one critical vulnerability, 34 high-severity issues, and seven security flaws. The security update page mentions that the most critical fix prevents memory corruption in devices using Qualcomm chips, which could let attackers run harmful code.

Another issue targeted is Samsung’s software allowing unauthorized changes to system settings. They’ve also patched a problem with the Find My Device feature, which could be disabled without permission.

Other than these issues, no new features are included. A major update that brings significant improvements is usually several gigabytes in size, often ranging from 1GB to 3GB. If you’re eager to see changes to the interface and more, you’ll just have to wait for One UI 7.

Bugs in One UI 7 Beta 3 caused official release delay

As for One UI 7, Samsung says the reason older devices won’t get it yet is because there’s an issue with the third Beta. Samsung found that it conflicted with the Natural mode on the phone and made the display color temperature appear more yellow than intended. It’s why they need one more update before launching the final stable version.

However, fans are speculating that it’s actually because they don’t want to wound sales for the Galaxy S25 series. It’s not completely off, considering that one of the main reasons people upgrade to a new phone is to get access to the latest software and features before older models. If the S24 series gets One UI 7 right away, it removes that advantage. The S25 and S24 are already identical enough as it is.

In the meantime, Samsung recommends that you disable the color correction feature on your phone to resolve the yellow tint. It’s an accessibility feature designed to help people with color blindness. It adjusts and alters how colors appear on the screen. Because of the bug in the One UI 7 beta 3, it’s possible the feature shifts the screen’s color balance to make it more yellow.

Turning it off should restore the default rendering and reduce the unwanted tint. To do that, go to settings > Accessibility > Vision enhancements > Color correction. Then tap the toggle button to turn it off.
