Some CBS, Telemundo, and CW channels are currently suffering an outage on YouTube TV. These are not nationwide, in fact they are limited to a few markets. These include Tulsa, Los Angeles, Glendive, and Cheyenne Wyoming to name a few.
In a form post, Google has confirmed this issue, and a fix is starting to roll out, as noted by 9to5Google. The company is working with their acquisition provider on a fix that shouldn’t take long. The channels that are affected include KOTVDT, KQCWDT, KXGN, WNOLDT, KGWN, WTVRDT, KXLH, WWTV, WFQXDT2, and WDNI.
This is a pretty rare issue with YouTube TV
This is actually a fairly rare issue for YouTube TV. Typically when channels go dark, it’s due to licensing disputes, and it affects the whole country, versus a few channels in a few markets. So this is more of an issue on the backend, essentially the technology that drives the signal to your device that you watch YouTube TV on. Hopefully, YouTube TV can get this sorted out pretty quickly.
YouTube TV did just recently raise prices, up to $82.99 per month, a $10 increase. So this is really stinging those customers that are affected by this outage. As you’re paying 13% more, and some channels aren’t even working correctly.
Currently, YouTube TV has over 100 top TV channels, and loads of streaming services that can be added on as well. Including Paramount+, Max, Hulu and much more. I’ve been using the service for many years, and absolutely love it, despite the price increases. It doesn’t generally have issues like the one above, but it does happen from time to time. This isn’t exclusive to YouTube TV either, as any TV provider could have this issue. It’s ironically one of the cheaper streaming live TV options out there (other than Sling TV). As Fubo and DIRECTV Stream have just recently raised their prices.
