The automotive space has been trending with many topics, such as Tesla, the Aprilia Tuono 457 India launch, the TVS Ronin, and others. However, in the four-wheeler segment, there have been a lot of developments such as new launches, Mahindra opening bookings for its latest electric SUVs and how the company is unfazed by Tesla coming to India, and more. Here are five topics that trended recently.

Skoda Kylaq

The Skoda Kylaq is the newest SUV in the segment, based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which also underpins the Kushaqq and Slavia. The platform is built specifically for India and the Kylaq draws power from a 1.0-litre petrol engine that makes 114bhp with the help of a manual or an automatic torque converter gearbox. Here’s our first drive review of the new Skoda Kylaq.
Mahindra

Mahindra has been a hot topic, especially with its latest electric SUVs, the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Launched last month and with bookings officially having been opened on Feb 14, the carmaker recorded 30,179 bookings in one day, translating to Rs 8472 crore in bookings. The top variants accounted for 73 percent of the total bookings.
Toyota Innova Crysta

The Innova Crysta is always a popular topic in India as that is the only vehicle a family would ever need. That said, the Crsyta made headlines again when the carmaker showcased the all-electric version of the MPV at GIIAS in Indonesia. The all-electric Toyota Innova Crysta will be powered by a 59.3 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, however, the carmaker has not revealed range details.
Kia Syros

The Kia Syros is a hot topic and Kia does it with a big bang or nothing else. The Syros is on sale from Rs 8.99 lakh, ex-showroom, and sits above the Sonet in the carmaker’s lineup. Powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, the Syros is available in six trims: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). Here’s our first drive review of the all-new Kia Syros.
Tesla

Tesla has been making a lot of buzz in the Indian automotive industry, especially after Trump took over as the President of the USA. Tesla is clearly entering India with a car priced under Rs 25 lakh and is aggressively scouting for locations while there is also word about Tata teaming up with the US carmaker. Mahindra has been open saying it is unfazed, but time will reveal more details about the carmaker’s entry into India.
