PowerWash Simulator 2 arrives this year with split-screen gameplay

FuturLab, the game studio behind the incredibly popular PowerWash Simulator, has officially announced PowerWash Simulator 2. This new version of the game will be self-published, which FuturLab says is a big milestone for the studio. The original game was a huge hit and has sustained its popularity by continually receiving new DLC packs with more things to clean.

Some of the DLC, like the Warhammer: 40,000 Special Pack, normally goes for about $7.99, while others, like the Midgar Special Pack, are free. This consistent set of releases kept PowerWash Simulator in the public eye and in the good graces of its fans. But it’s time for something new with the sequel, and FuturLab says it can’t wait for players to dive back into MuckingHam, the in-game location where most of the cleaning takes place.

PowerWash Simulator 2 brings in several new features. As well as more of what fans already love – casual, relaxing gameplay where you clean anything and everything so it looks shiny and new. It’s also launching this year.

FuturLab has announced that PowerWash Simulator 2 is coming this year, but no specific release date

While the game is arriving later this year, there’s no set date yet. The studio has laid out several of the sequel’s features, however. One of those is split-screen gameplay. With this on the feature list, friends and family members will be able to take on PowerWash Simulator 2 in a couch co-op setting if they prefer to play the game together locally. It’s also still going to be possible to play the game with friends online.

The game will also include new locations as well as new cleaning equipment. Additionally, there’s now better soap that “clings to stubborn stains and annihilates dirt.” Visuals have been upgraded as well, so now whatever you clean will look better than ever.

Players will have the opportunity to build up a base of sorts. Bases can be decorated with items that can be found throughout the gameplay and you can invite players to your base to hang out. If you’ve ever played a considerable amount of No Man’s Sky, then you should be familiar with this kind of feature. FuturLab says it has more to share on the game this April. So, that’s likely when we’ll hear about an actual release date.

The game is coming to basically all platforms

In terms of where you can play this game, FuturLab says PowerWash Simulator 2 will be coming to several platforms. This includes PS5 and PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, the Windows Store, the Epic Games Store, and Steam. It was rumored to be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, but FuturLab now says it has no firm plans to release the game on Nintendo’s next console.

At the very least, this confirms that FuturLab has considered releasing the game on Nintendo Switch 2. Whether or not this will actually come to pass is another story. Even if things do shift in that direction, it could be a while before that happens. Especially when you consider this game could still be several months away.
